Fusion Collegiate Appoints Dr. Mike Boyes, PhD, as Special Advisor

(Calgary, Alberta) October 31 – Fusion Collegiate is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Mike Boyes, a distinguished developmental psychologist with over 30 years of experience at the University of Calgary, as a Special Advisor, effective October 31, 2023. Dr. Boyes, an Adjunct Associate Professor, has dedicated his career to studying identity development among teens and emerging adults.

Throughout his tenure, Dr. Boyes has focused on understanding the challenges young people face in defining their identities, navigating transitions from secondary school to post-secondary life, and addressing the alarming rise in anxiety and stress among teens. His extensive background includes the creation of the University of Calgary’s Psychology For Everyday Life course (Psych 203), which he has been teaching to high school students since 2015.

“I am excited to collaborate with Fusion Collegiate and contribute to the optimization of students’ readiness for post-secondary life,” said Dr. Boyes.

As a Special Advisor, Dr. Boyes will work closely with Fusion Collegiate to make the Psychology for Everyday Life course and its University of Calgary experiences accessible to students. Additionally, he will explore the development of new dual credit opportunities in psychology and other disciplines to further enhance students’ preparedness for their transition to post-secondary life.

“We are privileged to have Dr. Mike Boyes on board as a Special Advisor, bringing his wealth of knowledge and expertise to enrich the academic experiences of our students,” stated Bradey Thompson, Principal and Co-Founder at Fusion Collegiate.
