Grade 10 : Connect

Students will take foundational courses and participate in a rich array of ‘Calgary is our Classroom’ learning to make personal connections to animal or health sciences and explore the diversity of opportunities in their pathway of interest.

Students will have the opportunity to take their first dual credit course with the University of Calgary if they are ready. Students will take the advanced science path and complete both Science 10 and Biology 20 in this year.

Calgary is our Classroom

In the Animal and Health Sciences pathway students will participate in the following Calgary is our Classroom real world learning experiences.

  • University and College On-campus Series
      • As a Collegiate we work in partnership with the University of Calgary, Olds College and SAIT.  Students have the opportunity to enjoy rich and immersive experiences on-campus with our post-secondary partners.  They will explore post-secondary opportunities through the University of Calgary and SAIT. Students will participate in tours, exploration and spend time as a student for a day. Students love this opportunity to see what real campus life and learning has to offer.
  • Workshop & Challenge Series
      • Students participate in skill development workshops; and research.
  • Guest Speaker Series
      • Students have the opportunities to learn from and with Calgary and animal and healthcare professionals.
  • Tour Series
      • Experiencing the world of animal and health sciences right here in Calgary. Through this tour series students get excited about their opportunities and use this first hand knowledge to make informed decisions about areas of interest within their studies, and plan for their future.
  • Certifications and Microcredentials
    • First Aid & CPR
    • Green Certificate
      • Students may earn up to 16 credits in this apprenticeship style program
    • Wilderness First Aid
